This Privacy Policy explains how Pigby Money Tracker collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile application and related services (the "Service").

1) Information We Collect

1.1 Account & Authentication

If you create an account or sign in, we collect:

• Email address (or other identifier used to log in)
• Authentication tokens/session data required to keep you signed in

Authentication is handled via Supabase (our backend provider).

1.2 Financial Data You Enter

We collect and store the information you add to the app, such as:

• Transactions (amount, category, date, description, type)
• Budgets
• Recurring transactions
• Reports you create
• Balance sheet items (assets/liabilities), if enabled

This information is stored in your account so the app can function.

1.3 Smart Entry Inputs (Receipt / Screenshot / Voice)

If you use Smart Entry features, we may process:

• Receipt images or selected photos
• Screenshots you choose to process
• Voice recordings you choose to submit

We use these inputs only to extract transaction details and show you results for confirmation. Depending on your configuration, Smart Entry processing may involve third-party AI/OCR providers (see "Third-Party Services").

1.4 Device & App Data

We may collect technical data such as:

• Device type/OS version
• App version
• Diagnostic information (e.g., crash logs), if enabled by your platform/OS settings

1.5 Location Data (Location Reminders)

If you enable location-based reminders, the app may collect:

• Approximate or precise location (depending on permissions you grant)
• Geofence events (entering/being near saved or detected locations)

Location is used to detect frequent spending locations and send you reminders to log transactions. We do not sell location data.

1.6 Notifications

If you enable notifications, we may store:

• Your notification permission status
• Notification interactions (e.g., which reminder action you tapped)

1.7 Local Storage (On-Device)

The app may store certain data locally for performance/offline support, such as:

• Cached app data
• Settings and preferences
• Session persistence tokens

2) How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

• Provide core budgeting/transaction features
• Sync your data across devices (where supported)
• Generate analytics and reports for your account
• Process Smart Entry inputs and show results for approval
• Detect frequent locations (if enabled) and send reminders
• Improve reliability and fix bugs

3) Permissions You May Grant

Depending on your usage, Pigby may request:

• Camera (receipt scanning)
• Photo library (selecting receipts/screenshots)
• Microphone (voice entry)
• Location (When In Use / Always) (location reminders; geofencing/background)
• Notifications (smart reminders)

You can deny these permissions; some features may not work without them.

4) How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to provide the Service:

• Supabase: authentication and database storage
• Service providers used for Smart Entry (e.g., OCR/AI) when you submit content for processing
• Platform providers (Apple/Google) for push notifications and device services

We do not sell your personal information.

5) Third-Party Services

Pigby may rely on third-party services for:

• Authentication + database (Supabase)
• Smart Entry processing (OCR/AI providers)
• Push notifications (Apple/Google infrastructure)

Third parties may process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies. We strive to minimize what is shared and only send what is necessary for a feature to work.

6) Data Retention

We retain your data as long as:

• Your account is active, or
• It is needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements.

You may request deletion (see "Your Rights").

7) Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, including access controls and secure transport. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8) Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Withdraw consent (e.g., disable location reminders, revoke permissions)
